2020 has been a difficult year for all of us. The COVID19 pandemic has touched nearly everyone at this point, either directly or indirectly. With this in mind, and with the holidays rapidly approaching, we would like take a moment to address the subject of our lead times, and deadlines in general.

Prior to the pandemic, our production time was usually a reliable 3-4 weeks, depending on the project. At present, we are operating closer to a 6-week turnaround. As none of us can predict the path of the virus or its potential effect on our staff over the coming months (and as it appears we are entering a resurgence, with cases spiking around the country) we will regrettably not be able to commit to any hard deadlines in the weeks ahead. We will, of course, continue to make every effort to meet all of our clients deadlines, however we simply cannot make promises that we aren’t sure we can keep.

As many of you know, the pandemic has forced us to close our doors twice twice so far this year. Like everyone, we have been working tirelessly to adapt to the new challenges of doing business during a major health crisis. It is a difficult balance to achieve, protecting our customers and staff, while safely keeping the business running and our doors open. We have heavily invested in safety and infrastructure improvements in our building, developed a 3-camera remote frame designing system for our clients using Zoom, constructed acrylic barriers in our showrooms, and supplied our staff with personal protective equipment, cleaning and sanitizing materials.

The cumulative effect of the coronavirus in our industry has been an overall slowdown in production capacity. Supply chains are stressed, and small businesses like ours struggle along, or are forced to temporarily close as staff members await test results, or worse, become sick and remain in quarantine. So far, we have been very lucky in that, while we have had positive cases among our staff, everyone has been able to return to work. For this, we are extremely grateful. However, the challenges are ongoing.

Thank you again to all of you for your understanding and patience. We deeply appreciate all of the support we have received from you this year, and we look forward with confidence to brighter days ahead.
