For more than 40 years, A Street Frames has been handcrafting picture frames of the highest quality.
We believe in the use of only museum quality, archival framing methods and materials. Whether steel, gold, hardwood or aluminum, we make all of our frames from scratch, by hand with the expertise gained from years in the craft. The result is a beautiful, one-of-a-kind frame that is right for each individual piece, and will enhance and preserve your artwork for years to come.
Our clients include not only individuals and artists, but designers, art consultants, collectors, museums, and many leading galleries in Boston and New York. In addition, we manufacture and sell our frames to independent frame shops across the country.
Founded by artists in 1981 on A Street in the Fort Point neighborhood of Boston, the company was initially conceived of as a way to pay the bills while helping fellow artists to frame their work. Through the end of 2022, ASF was still owned and operated by one of its founders, Mark LeSaffre, and since our beginnings, we have grown to become one of the largest and most respected art framers in the country.
At the beginning of 2023, company ownership was ceded to two of ASF’s longest serving employees, Scott Weaver and Chris Grace. This transfer of ownership to two people with the breadth of knowledge of the business and passion to see it continue for many more years to come has served us well as we continue to grow and expand our offerings and capabilities.
In November of 2025 we will be opening a new, light-filled showroom in the Newton village of Auburndale. We are so excited about this new location and can’t wait for our Boston-area clients to visit us there.
And 2026 will see ASF move its production from Cambridge to Malden with a larger space that allows us to bring our state-of-the-art photographic mounting capabilities in-house (previously located in the Saxonville Mills area of Framingham) while also expanding our frame production capacity. We also look forward to celebrating our 45th year in business in 2026!
As always, we offer free pick-up and delivery of artwork to the Boston Metro area, as well as in-person and virtual design consultations.
