We had a great time at the opening of the new group show Picnic at the Abigail Ogilvy Gallery recently. The show features work by Amanda Wachob, Anna Schuleit Haber, Natalia Wróbel, Mishael Coggeshall-Burr, and Wilhelm Neusser. The artwork in this show focuses on moments in time, and speaks directly to the artists’ personal experiences and emotions. 
Coggeshall-Burr’s soft-focus street paintings of Paris, and Neusser’s dreamy cranberry bog landscapes, contrast nicely with Wróbel’s and Schuleit-Haber’s brighter, more abstract and textural forms. Wachob’s single work in the show is an intricate swirling abstract that is gives the impression of both clarity and indistinctness as it bleeds over the edges of her canvas. Coggeshall-Burr and Wachob are newcomers to the gallery stable, and their work dovetails here nicely. The Abigail Ogilvy Gallery is located in Boston’s SOWA Arts district, and is open Wednesday – Saturday: 11:00 am – 6:00 pm, and Sunday: 11:00 am – 4:00 pm. Picnic is on view until August 18th.
